JALPAIGURI NEWS: Geeta studies at Kadamatala Girls' High School in Jalpaiguri, starting from the fifth grade. Teachers at the school always remember her as a determined student who is committed to her studies, even though her family faces financial hardships.

Geeta’s father, Haren Sen, passed away when she was in the fourth grade due to cancer. Her mother, Shukla Sen, works as a caregiver. Due to the family's economic struggles, Geeta's older brother and cousin had to halt their education. Geeta herself has had to face these challenges alongside her studies.

Geeta has managed to pass her secondary exams with an impressive score of 550 marks. She has dreams of becoming a doctor or pharmacist. However, financial constraints have made her worry about pursuing a science education.

Geeta's family lives in a small home made of bamboo and tin sheets. Her elder brother, Biren, had to leave his studies to work in a paper plate and glass-making factory. Her younger brother, Tapas, has also been compelled to abandon his education to support the family.

Geeta has excelled in various subjects, scoring 76 in Bengali, 63 in English, 83 in Mathematics, 73 in Physics, 84 in Biology, 74 in History, and 97 in Geography. She expressed her desire to pursue medical studies from a young age, but the high costs associated with science education have caused concern within her family.

Rita Ray Sengupta, the principal of KadamTala Kadamatala Girls' High School, expressed pride in Geeta's achievements. She emphasized the school's commitment to supporting bright and determined students like Geeta in their academic pursuits despite challenging circumstances.
