In a remarkable achievement, all five visually impaired students who appeared for this year's Madhyamik exams from Town High School in Cooch Behar have passed with flying colors. This success is a testament to their unwavering determination and hard work.
Among the successful candidates, Shankar Debsingh secured the highest marks, scoring an impressive 410 out of a total of 500. The other visually impaired students who excelled include Rituraj Khalko (379), Monoj Barman (345), Bimal Barman (296), and Parveen Ekka (289). Each of these students has overcome numerous challenges to achieve this milestone.
Expressing joy over their success, the principal of Town High School, Liton Das, commented, "We are delighted by the success of all five visually impaired students from our school. Their achievements are truly inspiring. Each of them has worked diligently despite facing various hardships related to their studies."
Shankar Debsingh, who secured the highest marks, hails from Mathabhanga Mahakuma in Cooch Behar. His father, Paresh Debsingh, works as a carpenter, while his mother, Milan Devi, is a homemaker. Despite financial constraints, Paresh expressed his determination to provide the best education for his son, saying, "We have financial problems, but we are trying our best for our son's education. I don't know how long we can continue like this."
Shankar dreams of becoming a teacher in the future and is passionate about music alongside his studies.
Another successful visually impaired student, Bimal Barman, hails from Dinhatar Nayarahat area in Koch Bihar. Bimal has been studying at the hostel of a visually impaired school in Koch Bihar since childhood and aspires to become a teacher one day.
The principal emphasized that every family faces financial challenges, but with strong determination and willpower, no obstacle can hinder success.
